Here we are again already! It seems like no time at all since we were reporting on the whisky school for 2015.
The first week of the whisky school coincided with our Open Day this year, with students from the UK, Germany, USA, Malta and Switzerland. They all worked very hard, especially on Open Day and of course enjoying the warehouse tastings to the full.
It was very difficult for a decision to be made at the end of the week on who was to receive the honour of “student of the week”, so in the end there were two “pupils of the week” - Mike Borschette from Luxembourg and Olaf van den Hooven from Malta (although we should point out that Olaf has now moved to Spain).
The other students joining us on week one were Michal Maziarz, Eike Thalmann, Karl Neubauer and Rachel MacNeill. As usual all the students got on well with each other and with the staff at the distillery. The distillery production and bottling teams make a special effort during our whisky school terms to ensure that our visitors enjoy their stay with us and that they feel part of our special “family” and go away with the intention of revisiting us in the future.
